Try googling that phrase. You’ll be surprised by how many weird hits come up. Really though, is that honestly the only solution to problems within our society?
I see this as one of the major issues of our current culture. I’ve been pegged as a rosy idealist and an unreal optimist because I believe that not all morality needs to be enforced by external laws. Not only do I think it’s immoral for government to fill that role, I believe it’s unnecessary. (more…)

As most of you already know, I work in a financial institution. Day in and day out, I work with people who are in a lot of financial problems and there’s one very common denominator shared by all of them – it’s someone else’s fault.
Today I overheard my manager talking with a gentleman about an overdraw fee on his account. He wanted it rebated after having already exhausted his one-time courtesy rebate a long time ago. His whole argument for why he shouldn’t have to pay was because he “intended to have the funds” in his account. (more…)

I have had more than one good laugh at the falling out over the new Arizona immigration law. I’ve also had the opportunity to have a few people ask me directly how I feel about illegal immigration. Being a small government advocate, I think we’ve convoluted this issue entirely too much.
First of all, this country was founded by illegal immigrants. Not a single one of our founding fathers registered his citizenship with the local Native American tribe. This country was established through violence and force. I’m proud of my country, but I have no pretenses about how it came to be. (more…)
